Gender Project

Gender Project is a social photography project that inquires into people’s understanding and perception of identity. It is aiming to enhance the idea of fluidity and promote intersectionality creating a chain of exhibitions across the globe, seeking to establish active and inclusive networks.

Our Role

UX/UI / Web Design / Development

When we started working on the Gender Project website, the client had already a strong black and white identity, a great base to build a digital experience on. Because of the simplicity of the layout and ease of content implementation/update for the client, we chose to build the website on WIX, which allowed us to use flexible galleries and simple animations/page transitions.

The website features also galleries for the exhibitions in London and Milan – Berlin coming soon – and an e-commerce section, where the user can easily buy a print or some of the project merchandise.

In December 2020, our Creative Director started to design the Gender Project Exhibition book over a two-day Adobe Live segment. You can see the recordings on YouTube for Part 1 and Part 2.

“Working with Cecilia from Studio Lutalica was a remarkable experience. Great attention to detail, and very fast delivery times. The modality of communication and interaction with our ideas was very efficient. I will absolutely recommend anyone to work with Lutalica.”
