Equality Federation
Equality Federation is an advocacy accelerator rooted in social justice, working alongside a nationwide network of state-based LGBTQ+ advocacy organisations. For their annual Leadership Conference—three packed days of learning, connection, and movement-building—they needed a refreshed conference identity that could work hard across every touchpoint, from registration comms to the room itself.
We partnered with Equality Federation Institute to develop a conference sub-brand and a flexible set of event assets. The goal was simple: make it easier for their team to communicate clearly, stay consistent, and deliver a cohesive conference experience—without creating extra complexity behind the scenes.

Branding and Collateral: Alaïs de Saint Louvent
The Challenge
Conference comms move fast. A single event can require dozens of assets across digital platforms and printed materials, often produced under tight timelines with multiple stakeholders.
Equality Federation needed a system that could hold up across formats (email graphics, web banners, app visuals, print, and slides), remain consistent even as content changed, feel distinctly “conference” while still sitting comfortably alongside the wider organisational brand, and be easy to roll out repeatedly—year after year.
What We Did
We began with a kick-off discovery workshop and research phase to align on audience needs, practical constraints, and what “good” would look like for the team delivering the event. From there, we created an aesthetics direction moodboard and translated that into a conference sub-brand with a clear visual logic.
We designed a suite of collateral that could travel across the entire conference journey: digital graphics for registration emails, a banner for the conference webpage, and graphics for the conference app, alongside in-person assets such as tote bag artwork, name tags, and supporting collateral. We also designed the programme book, signage and wayfinding, and a slideshow template for on-stage moments. To make the system easier to use day-to-day, we created a set of six Canva templates so the team could produce common assets quickly while staying on-brand.
Throughout, we focused on creating a modular, repeatable kit—not a one-off set of pretty files.
Impact
A good conference identity isn’t just visual polish. It’s infrastructure: it helps a team communicate more smoothly, and it helps people move through an event with less friction.
The conference sub-brand and asset system supported a clearer, more legible experience for attendees—helping people find information faster, recognise key moments, and stay oriented as they moved between sessions, spaces, and digital platforms.
By building a cohesive, multi-format toolkit, Equality Federation had a stronger foundation for producing conference comms across channels. The Canva templates and modular approach made it easier to keep assets consistent over time, even when content needed to shift quickly.
