Jessica Lanyadoo
Jessica Lanyadoo is a humanistic astrologer, psychic medium, tarot reader, and animal communicator. They’re also the voice behind Ghost of a Podcast—a much-loved astrology + advice show with a big, loyal listenership.
Jessica makes a huge volume of work, and the website needed to make that abundance feel spacious, not chaotic. We designed and built an experience that holds the “cosmic chaos” with clear structure—so first-time visitors can quickly understand what’s on offer, without losing the colour, warmth, and personality that makes Jessica’s work feel like Jessica.

The Challenge
Jessica’s world is vibrant and multi-layered, with lots of moving parts. The site had to hold all of that without asking people to work too hard to find what they came for.
In discovery, Jessica put it simply: “I want people to know they can sit at my table.” That guided everything. We designed for gentleness and clarity—welcoming by default, and easy to navigate whether you’re astrology-fluent or totally new.
We also used motion to guide attention and add delight, but we kept it intentionally lightweight. The goal was to make the site feel alive, while still loading quickly and running smoothly.
What We Did
We developed a concept that balances chaos and order (very cosmic, very Jessica). We kept the vibrant illustrations and bright pastel palette, then framed them within an asymmetrical grid. That structure supports clarity without flattening the energy.
We used animation strategically to bring focus to the right places. Motion helps draw attention to key elements and supports a quick “what’s on offer” read—without turning the experience into a distraction.
For responsive design, we made intentional layout shifts across devices. On desktop, visitors can take in many sections at once. On mobile, each section becomes more of a full-screen moment, helping the site stay bold while improving focus and navigability.
To keep things efficient, we created animations in After Effects and exported them in code. Recreating motion in code reduces page weight, supports faster load times, and keeps the experience lighter and greener.
Impact
A bold, content-rich brand world is now held by a structure that supports clarity and exploration. Visitors can quickly understand what Jessica offers, then follow their curiosity rather than fighting the navigation.
The site reflects Jessica’s values too: inviting, inclusive, and human. It gives people permission to come in as they are.
Performance-conscious motion work keeps the experience smooth and responsive—so delight doesn’t come at the cost of speed (or sustainability).
I had an amazing experience working with Studio Lutalica! Their ability to synthesize and organize a sizable amount of information on my website in a way that is beautiful, unique, and engaging is unparalleled in my experience. I came to Cecilia with a pretty challenging and multifarious aesthetic. They were not only able to streamline it, but they were also able to give me exactly what I wanted and more! I really love my website. Chef’s kiss + 10 stars!
