La Casa di Sophia

A scalable Shopify store designed to let the island, the craft, and the wine lead.

La Casa di Sophia is an organic farm and winery based on the Italian island of Sant’Antioco. They balance traditional, hands-on techniques with modern methods to work the land sustainably and produce high-quality organic wines.

We developed a new Shopify website for La Casa di Sophia, designed to be easy to manage day to day and able to scale as the business grows. The site was built to let the product and lifestyle photography do the heavy lifting, so the experience feels spacious, premium, and rooted in place.

The Challenge

La Casa di Sophia needed an e-commerce experience that is straightforward to run, without losing the feeling of a small, detail-led winery.

The site needed to work well with strong imagery, keep product browsing clear, and stay responsive across devices. It also needed to be maintainable and adaptable, so updates and additions do not require constant technical support.

What We Did

We designed and developed a Shopify storefront with a clean codebase to support long-term scalability and easier ongoing updates.

We built the interface to feel calm and photography-led, leaving space for large images that convey the atmosphere of the island and the craft behind the wines.

To support a smooth browsing experience, we implemented responsive design patterns so the site adapts across screen sizes without losing clarity.

We also supported the brand with orchestrating product photography, recognising that clear and consistent product shots are essential for conversion and for a cohesive experience within Shopify.

Where appropriate, we introduced small moments of movement and conviviality through animated illustration elements, adding a sense of warmth and attention to detail.

Impact

La Casa di Sophia’s new e-commerce website is easier to manage and better set up for growth, without compromising on brand feel.

The photography-led layout helps customers understand the product quickly and connect with the place it comes from, while clear product browsing supports a smooth path to purchase.

A scalable Shopify build reduces maintenance burden over time, protecting the team’s capacity and making it easier to keep the shop current as the business evolves.
