re|scripted

A dynamic feminist education consultancy identity and WordPress site built for accessible, high-performance reading.

re|scripted is a collective of feminist education specialists, scholars, and researchers offering consultancy to schools and organisations. Their work exists to “inspire, complicate, support and lead practices of intersectional theories of gender and difference.”

As a studio rooted in feminist praxis, we partnered with re|scripted to develop a refreshed brand identity and build a bespoke WordPress website that could hold complex, text-led work with total clarity. The project balanced a minimal, confident system with a sense of dynamism and personality, as well as accessibility-led design that makes long-form research feel easier to navigate.

The Challenge

re|scripted’s work is intellectually rigorous and values-led. The brand and website needed to communicate that seriousness without feeling rigid or overly academic.

Because we understand that information should be a tool for liberation, we focused on design decisions that would reduce the cognitive load associated with text-heavy environments. The challenge was to create a structure that helps people stay oriented and engaged, while giving the content room to breathe.

Finally, digital accessibility had to be embedded into the identity—ensuring that legibility and hierarchy supported diverse needs without sacrificing a distinctive visual tone.

What We Did

We built the identity around clarity and minimalism, using organic lines to add spontaneity against a restrained layout. For the logo, we designed a minimalist typographic mark using a single font that is distinctive, clean and flexible across digital contexts.

On the website, we engineered an “industrial grid” structure that functions as both a functional and aesthetic tool, improving legibility for long-form reading. To keep the experience lively, we introduced bespoke interaction details, including animated elements that guide attention.

Significantly, we implemented a user-controlled colour-switching feature offering three palette options. Practically, this supports neuro-inclusive accessibility, as different contrasts work better for different visitors. Finally, we ensured mobile-first responsive behaviour, with layouts that stack and scale, so that re|scripted’s research remains performant and readable on any device.

Impact

The new brand and website provided re|scripted with a clearer, more dynamic platform for their work. By applying a high-level UX strategy, we have transformed dense scholarly work into a navigable digital resource.

Accessibility-led choices such as structured layouts, responsive behaviour, and user-controlled palette switching make the site easier to engage with for a wider range of people, establishing re|scripted as a leader in inclusive education.

Together, the identity and site help the collective show up as they are: feminist, educational, and unapologetically purposeful, with a sustainable platform that can grow with them.

The Lutalica team was incredible to work with. They were thoughtful, patient, reliable, provocative, and professional. We wanted a website that expresses our transgressive views about gender and sexuality and a brand identity that emits a feminist ethos – they helped us create just that! We love our site and absolutely recommend working with them.
