Stonewall Housing is a UK-based charity that provides housing advice and support to LGBTQ+ people who are homeless or living in a hostile environment. In collaboration with web development agency Lattimore + Friends, we worked on Stonewall Housing’s branding, website and a range of print and merchandise to give them a more modern and consistent visual identity.

Branding
Whenever we do a brand refresh, we conduct a collaborative audit with clients to find out which elements they want to keep and what they want to change. Together, we decided to keep motifs from Stonewall Housing’s old branding, such as the heart with lines breaking out, but made it simpler and more modern. Similarly, they wanted to keep the red that was prominent in their previous branding, but ensure it felt warm and inviting rather than aggressive.
Website
The desktop version of the site features a clean and minimalist design that allows users to easily navigate and find the information they need. The homepage features a full-width hero image that showcases the diversity of the LGBTQ+ community and sets the tone for the rest of the site.
Responsive Design
The mobile version of the Stonewall Housing website is fully responsive and easy to use on smaller screens. The design features the same clean and minimalist aesthetic as the desktop site, but with a simplified layout that is optimised for touch screens.
Modular Design
We created this website on a modular layout, which means that the charity can edit and add new pages when they need to, so they don’t need to pay for extra design work to (for example) add blogs, announcement banners and events.
Collateral
Among the digital assets that we made with the new branding, we created templates for PowerPoint, social media and press releases. For a re-brand to be properly effective, it’s important to extend your visual identity across all channels and platforms. As well as digital assets, we created a printable one-pager to showcase Stonewall Housing’s mission, business cards, leaflets and a racerback vest. All in all, this 360-degree re-branding project allowed us to create a strong visual presence for the organisation that will resonate across digital platforms and in the real world.
