General Process
Before the project begins, we select the right people for the job, from our talent pool. Each team member is carefully selected to match the demands of your project, taking into account expertise, special interests and lived experience.
We kick things off by sending you discovery questionnaires to get your creative juices flowing, in preparation for a call between key members of your team and the Lutalica team. This is our chance to get to know each other, understand the aim(s) of the project, finalise the scope and make sure we have everything we need to get started.
The Double Diamond Process is a learning-centric and holistic approach to design, developed by the Design Council in 2003. It’s about ‘going wide’ and ‘going narrow’ as you move through a creative project. What this means for our process is that we begin with a thorough research phase, and revert back to research as new things are learned throughout the project. For example, we start by thinking broadly about the audience and business goals, then focus on the specific project scope. We explore the broad context, as well as catering to specific audience personae. Our design team throw out constraints when they’re coming up with ideas, but factor in time and budget as they pair down and refine their ideas. This trusted approach lets us be innovative yet practical, delivering projects that meet both creative ideals and real-world requirements.
We offer clients a safe and empathetic space to express their needs. Though this is valuable for everyone involved, it is especially important for projects which deal with sensitive issues. Through transparent communication, invigorating conversations and shared aspirations, these relationships lead to brilliant designs.
